6: Chicken Soup for the Soul by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen

This week's NYT bestseller: Chicken Soup for the Soul. This book and the series is spawned held a spot on the New York Times Best Seller list (and your mom's book shelf) continuously from 1994 - 1998.

Mean Book Club is four ladies (from UCB-NY, BuzzFeed, College Humor, Impractical Jokers) who read, discuss and whine about NYT bestselling books that have questionable literary merit. It's fun. It's cathartic. It's perfect for your commute. New podcast every Tuesday!

We're taking two weeks off for the end of the year, so episode 7 will hit in 2019\. If you want to read ahead, here's a list of books that will be featured on our second season:

* The Hunt for Red October by Tom Clancy
* Left Behind by Tim LaHaye & Jerry B. Jenkins
* Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella
* Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James
* A Million Little Pieces by James Frey
