2: Left Behind by Tim LaHaye‎ and ‎Jerry B. Jenkins

Sarah, Johnna, Clara & Sabrina rip apart this week's NYT bestseller: Left Behind. Although it was released in 1995, this book took time to make it onto the NYT list because the newspaper does not track sales at Christian bookstores. Eventually the book made it to Walmart and began growing in popularity with secular audiences, spawning a movie and a remake 15 years later. BUT WHY?

Mean Book Club is four ladies (from UCB-NY, BuzzFeed, College Humor, Impractical Jokers) who read, discuss and whine about NYT bestselling books that have questionable literary merit. It's fun. It's cathartic. It's perfect for your commute. New podcast every Tuesday!

If you want to read ahead, here is a list of books that will be featured on our second season:

* The Hunt for Red October by Tom Clancy

* Left Behind by Tim LaHaye & Jerry B. Jenkins

* Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

* Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James

* A Million Little Pieces by James Frey

* Chicken Soup for the Soul by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen
* And more!
