1140 - The Dark Connection Between Lust, Objectification, and Sex Trafficking

In this episode, Sathiya sits down with Caleb Altmeyer, ministry leader and founder of Helping Captives, to explore pornography addiction, sex trafficking, and the importance of faith, accountability, and community in the journey toward freedom. Caleb shares his personal struggle with pornography, which began in childhood, and the role that counseling and accountability played in his healing. The conversation also examines how pornography contributes to the objectification of people and can create conditions that fuel exploitation, leading into Caleb’s work with trafficking survivors through emergency stabilization, safe housing, trauma therapy, and long-term support. Caleb highlights the vulnerabilities that can lead people to exploitation, including family involvement and manipulative “lover boy” tactics, while emphasizing the importance of present fatherhood, strong families, and educating young people about trafficking. Throughout the conversation, Caleb encourages believers to engage culture beyond the walls of the church, use social media intentionally, and build strong local communities while bringing hope and practical support to those affected by pornography and trafficking.
