They Livestreamed After the Murder—Now They’re Charged with Killing Jacob Williamson

Jacob Williamson thought it was a first date. Instead, it turned out to be the last night of his life.

The 18-year-old had been chatting online with a man named Joshua Newton for weeks. On June 30, 2023, he left a Waffle House parking lot in South Carolina and got into Joshua’s car. He never came home. Days later, his body was found dumped on the side of a rural road just past the state line. The arrests that followed revealed a twisted plan involving not just Joshua, but his girlfriend Victoria Smith—and a livestream that left everyone stunned.

What really happened in that house on Bethpage Lane? And why was Jacob targeted?

This is the case of Jacob Williamson—a teenager who just wanted connection, and the strangers who turned that into something deadly.
