Her initial arrest in November 2023 for engaging in over 30 sexual acts with a student and distributing explicit materials was only the tip of the iceberg. As the investigation unfolded, the depth of her manipulation became clear, with multiple victims from Wilson Middle School in Tampa falling prey to her plot.

The Tampa Police Department's discovery that Alyssa had posed as a homeschooled teen to gain the trust of her victims adds a layer of horror to her actions. When caught shoplifting, her attempt to maintain her false identity crumbled, unraveling a year-long police investigation and leading to her arrest on multiple counts of lewd and lascivious conduct.
