Leslie Preer didn’t show up for work one morning. When her husband and her boss went to check on her home, they found blood everywhere.

For years, suspicion followed the wrong person. The real answer stayed hidden, locked inside DNA recovered from beneath Leslie’s fingernails.

It would take more than two decades, new forensic technology, and a single discarded water bottle to uncover the truth.
