The Iron Warriors, led by their grim and calculating Primarch Perturabo, were the epitome of unrelenting siege warfare during the Great Crusade. Tasked with the most brutal and grueling campaigns, they were the Emperor's hammer, breaking through the most fortified of enemies with relentless precision. Yet beneath the surface, their dedication to fortresses and walls—symbols of their unwavering discipline—was a reflection of the isolation and resentment that festered within them. The Iron Warriors were often overshadowed by their more charismatic brothers, their feats of victory overshadowed by a bitter sense of being underappreciated. This sense of betrayal came to a head during the Horus Heresy. As Horus turned against the Emperor, Perturabo and his Legion followed, embittered by years of sacrifice and what they saw as the Emperor’s cold indifference. The Heresy was not merely a rebellion—it was an opportunity for the Iron Warriors to finally assert their dominance, their hatred for their former masters only growing as they tore the Imperium apart with the same relentless precision they had always known.
