Washington Wizards face a franchise-altering decision at the NBA Draft. Analytics guru Dean Oliver reveals why AJ Dybantsa may be the safest—and smartest—choice for the No. 1 pick, comparing his potential and playing style to Carmelo Anthony’s. With Cameron Boozer’s ceiling debated and Darryn Peterson’s fit questioned, which rising star offers the Wizards the brightest path forward? Ben Strober, Abdullah Ayubi, and Dean Oliver break down each prospect’s strengths, weaknesses, and defensive capabilities, highlighting how traits like age, playing time, and off-ball development shape NBA success. The conversation explores the Wizards’ roster needs, the impact of player development, and whether trading the top pick makes sense in a crowded draft class.
