WVU’s Emerging Stars MUST DELIVER in the Showdown with Virginia!

West Virginia’s emerging stars are stepping into the spotlight—and now they must deliver against Virginia! Amari Latimer, D.J. Epps and Ashton Woods have established themselves as three of WVU’s biggest early-season winners. Latimer is flashing legitimate star potential in the Mountaineers’ backfield, Epps is becoming a trusted offensive weapon and Woods is rapidly developing into a leader for Zac Alley’s defense. But producing through the first two games is only the beginning. Virginia represents WVU’s first major test of the 2026 season—and the Mountaineers will need their newest playmakers to rise to the occasion under the lights at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Can these emerging stars help Rich Rodriguez and West Virginia make a national statement against the Cavaliers?
