Las Vegas Underdogs? Mountaineers Poised to Rip Pitt's Heart Out on National TV!

#BackyardBrawl #WVUFootball #MountaineerNation Get ready, Mountaineer Nation, for the most electrifying showdown of the season! On September 13, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. ET, West Virginia hosts Pitt in the 108th Backyard Brawl at a sold-out Milan Puskar Stadium, broadcast live on ESPN. This ain’t just another game—it’s the final clash of the current four-game series before a hiatus until 2029, and it marks Rich Rodriguez’s first battle against Pitt since 2007. The Mountaineers, stinging from a late collapse in Pittsburgh last year, are hell-bent on evening the series after their gritty 17-6 win in Morgantown in 2023. Despite WVU’s homefield advantage and a higher EA Sports rating (80 vs. Pitt’s 78), oddsmakers have slapped the Mountaineers with a disrespectful 2.5-point underdog status, with Pitt at -137 on the money line and a 57.5 over/under (per FanDuel). But this team thrives on defiance. With the “Stripe the Stadium” promotion igniting the crowd and Rodriguez begging ESPN’s College GameDay to witness the blue lot’s chaos, Morgantown is set to explode. Expect a brutal battle in the trenches, fueled by last year’s late-game scrum and WVU’s hunger to humiliate their bitter rivals. This is more than a game—it’s a chance to send Pitt packing in disgrace and cement Mountaineer pride. Let’s shock the world, WVU! #BackyardBrawl #WVUFootball #MountaineerNation #WVUvsPitt #StripeTheStadium #RichRod #MorgantownMadness #CollegeFootball #ESPN #GameDay #BeatPitt #MountaineerPride #RivalryWeek #MilanPuskar #WVU #fanduel #vegas Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
