This Loss SHOWED Us that the Offense is Turning a corner & the Defense still has a ways to go

Vanderbilt Commodores show signs of offensive life despite falling to Kentucky, as freshman quarterback Jared Curtis gets in rhythm and the play calling finally finds its groove. Is this the turning point the Vanderbilt offense has needed all season? Key moments include Curtis’ impressive 27-of-36, 247-yard, 2-touchdown performance, creative RPOs, and improved vertical concepts, though the run game’s 15-yard total raises big questions heading into the bye.

The conversation focused on the Commodores’ defensive woes, spotlighting Mason Lewis’ standout play but emphasizing issues with conceding too much space, lack of takeaways, and the unit’s overall inability to disrupt SEC opponents. Can Vanderbilt’s defense tighten up before the crucial matchup against Mississippi State, or will coaching changes become inevitable? The discussion explores possible fixes, the importance of developing a competent ground attack, and what the Commodores must address before their next SEC test.
