The Austin Peay Game TAUGHT US that Jared Curtis needs to be the Guy

Vanderbilt Commodores’ QB question heats up as Corey Burton argues it’s time for freshman Jared Curtis to take the reins. Can Curtis’ NFL-level arm unlock the offense’s vertical threat, or will conservative play-calling keep Vandy stuck in a 6-6 ceiling? The debate intensifies after a lackluster win over Austin Peay, where the coaching staff’s risk-averse approach left big-play potential untapped and fans questioning the team’s confidence under center.

Corey Burton breaks down the Commodores’ run-game strengths with Setty, MK, and James L.—but warns that without an aggressive, downfield mentality, SEC defenses are sure to suffocate them. Key topics include Blaze Berlowitz’s limitations, the defense’s inconsistent start despite a loaded roster, and the urgent need for attacking schemes ahead of a tough matchup against Delaware. Will Vandy build on its ground game and ignite its passing attack in time for SEC play?
