CONTROVERSY: Clark Lea FIGHTS for Vanderbilt in Playoff Chaos—Should the CFP System Change NOW?

Vanderbilt football pushes for playoff inclusion as Clark Lea challenges the status quo—could a bold new postseason format be on the horizon? Corey Burton and Mike Husemann debate expanding to a 16-team college football playoff, potential play-in games, and the impact of conference title games on seeding. Key topics include the effect on National Championship contention for Vanderbilt, Texas, Miami, BYU, and Utah, plus a provocative look at whether the Heisman Trophy vote should shift to post-bowl season. Looking ahead, possible bowl matchups like Vanderbilt vs. Iowa in the ReliaQuest Bowl promise trench battles and elite defense, while Illinois and Miami loom as intriguing opponents. The discussion weighs the transfer portal’s influence, the value of Group of Five teams having their own playoff, and how Clark Lea’s relentless advocacy is changing the narrative for the Commodores. Can Vanderbilt capitalize and prove their place among college football’s elite? #anchordown
