“The Fire Is Back” Is This CJ Stroud’s REDEMPTION Year? + Texans Playoff Disrespect?!

On today’s episode of Locked On Texans, is the redemption arc for CJ Stroud officially beginning? Everybody around Houston seems to be hyping up their quarterback again — and the confidence around No. 7 feels VERY familiar. Recently, Xavier Hutchinson joined the Caps Off Podcast and had some strong words about his QB: 🔥 “Stroud’s unwavering confidence” helped put him in those Top-5 QB conversations after 2023 🔥 “Stroud has all the tools to be a top quarterback” 🔥 And most importantly… “The fire is back.” So what does that ACTUALLY mean? After a frustrating 2025 season filled with offensive struggles, pressure issues, and mental wear-and-tear, how much did the mental side of football impact Stroud’s early struggles? And if CJ is truly “back” — what does that even look like? For me: 🏈 More joy on the field 🏈 Playing loose, but still in command 🏈 Having FUN while controlling the offense 🏈 Looking like the confident playmaker Houston saw in 2023 Because when Stroud is confident, this offense feels different. PLUS… Let’s talk about Xavier Hutchinson and why 2026 might quietly be the MOST important year of his Texans career. Hutchinson has slowly earned trust inside this offense, and when you really watch the film, he feels a lot like what “Bobby Trees” brought to Houston in 2023: ✅ Reliable ✅ First-down machine ✅ Trusted chain mover ✅ Sneaky big-play ability when needed The stats and overall impact? More similar than people think. Houston doesn’t necessarily need Hutchinson to be a star — but they DO need him to be dependable. And if he can continue building trust with Stroud, his role could quietly become huge for this offense. AND WAIT… 🚨 FOX Sports has the Texans MISSING THE PLAYOFFS?! 🚨 Seriously… WHAT?! We react to the latest national prediction and ask: 🤔 Are people overthinking Houston’s offensive concerns? 🤔 Is the Texans’ roster being underrated again? 🤔 Or are expectations finally catching up with reality? The CJ Stroud conversation is changing in Houston — and Year 4 might define everything.
