Houston's Backfield Belongs to David Montgomery + Texans Top 25 Under 25! Give Caserio His Flowers

The Houston Texans aren't just built to compete in 2026—they're built to contend for a championship. On today's Locked On Texans, we break down why the Texans' roster construction has created one of the NFL's best championship windows. Nick Caserio continues to cash in on second and third-day draft picks, DeMeco Ryans has assembled what could be the league's best defense, and Houston lands No. 2 on the NFL's Top 25 Under 25 rankings thanks to stars like C.J. Stroud, Will Anderson Jr., Derek Stingley Jr., Kamari Lassiter, Calen Bullock, and more. We also dive into the Texans' backfield after the arrival of David Montgomery. Why Montgomery still has a legitimate path to another 1,000-yard season, how Woody Marks factors into the offense, and why Houston's running backs could become major weapons in the passing game—not just between the tackles. Plus, the fan-favorite Ear to the Street segment returns! Texans fans are split: Does C.J. Stroud simply need to be an efficient quarterback, or do the playmakers around him have to elevate their game for Houston to reach the Super Bowl? We react to your hottest takes and continue the conversation. If you're a diehard Texans fan or just jumping on one of the NFL's fastest-rising teams, this is the episode you don't want to miss.
