Oklahoma Sooners blue-collar ATTITUDE setting stage for HUGE season | SEC Network excited about OU

Oklahoma Sooners eye a College Football Playoff run as Jason Witten joins Brent Venables’ staff to elevate the tight end room. Can Witten’s Hall of Fame pedigree and blue-collar attitude ignite a new era in Norman? Matt Berre of SEC Nation lays out why the Sooners’ foundation—anchored by quarterback John Mateer, standout receiver Isaiah Sategna, and a dominant defense—sets them apart in a crowded SEC field.

Key talking points include Oklahoma’s early-season showdown with Michigan, the advantages of an expanded 12-team playoff format, and the significance of landing Texas transfer Parker Livingstone. The conversation also explores SEC contenders like Texas, Georgia, and Ole Miss, and what Oklahoma must do to assert itself in its new conference home. Don’t miss Berry’s unique perspective on program culture, staff leadership, and the Sooners’ playoff potential.
