San Jose Sharks set the stage for a blue line transformation as Michael Kesselring emerges as a potential breakout value on defense. After a challenging season with the Buffalo Sabres, Kesselring arrives in San Jose determined to prove himself, bringing size, defensive skill, and a chip on his shoulder—can he become the cornerstone in a revamped Sharks defensive core? Host JD Young breaks down Kesselring’s contract, fit alongside veterans like Jacob Trouba and Darnell Nurse, and examines whether the 26-year-old can reclaim his two-way form seen with Utah. Several points are raised, including the Sharks’ offseason moves, who should pair with Kesselring, and how his success could guide the next wave of San Jose’s defensive prospects.
