New Orleans Saints, Derek Carr split MAKES SENSE for Head Coach Kellen Moore

The New Orleans Saints have their head coach in Super Bowl winner and former Philadelphia Eagles OC Kellen Moore, and now Derek Carr's name is squarely in focus. With Moore at the helm, it will be his decision on how the Saints handle their quarterback situation. The case for keeping Carr centers around competing in 2025, something the Saints have consistently tried to do even after the departures of Drew Brees and Sean Payton. However, a split may make the most sense, giving the team a real chance to evaluate Spencer Rattler for a year before deciding to keep moving on with him or diving into a much better 2026 NFL Draft quarterback class than what 2025 has to offer. Moore won't have loyalties on the staff or on the roster. His only loyalties will be to who he hires, appoints and signs and to the fans that are looking to him to get the franchise back on a winning track.
