Houston Rockets face tough trade deadline choices as Phoenix Suns’ picks lose their shine. Can Bobby Portis fill the void left by Steven Adams and reshape the Rockets’ frontcourt? Host Jackson Gatlin (@JTGatlin) is joined by weekly cohosts Brandon Scott (@brandonkscott) and Ben DuBose (@BenDuBose) for part two of an NBA trade deadline preview to examine Houston’s asset strategy, evaluating the future impact of Fred VanVleet’s injury and Amen Thompson’s versatility. The conversation questions whether the Rockets should sacrifice Dorian Finney-Smith or Adams for a guard like Coby White, or wait until the offseason to maximize roster upgrades. Key insights include the growing importance of Reed Sheppard, the dilemma of trading valuable draft picks, and the potential ripple effects of a Giannis Antetokounmpo-led Milwaukee Bucks fire sale. Is Jabari Smith Jr. still part of Houston’s long-term plans, or is a blockbuster swap looming this summer? Roster construction, ball-handling concerns, and the need for dynamic perimeter talent take center stage as the Rockets chart their path to contention.
