RED SOX POSTCAST: Sox Rest a Handful of Regulars; Drop 2-1 Decision to Tigers
The Red Sox (88-73) dropped a 2-1 decision to the Detroit Tigers on Saturday afternoon at Fenway Park. With the win, the Tigers clinch the season series vs. the Red Sox and secure a playoff berth in the American League Postseason. It's possible the Tigers could host the Red Sox in the Best 2 out of 3 Wild Card Round, which gets started on Tuesday. ----- Early Time: Connelly Early made the start for the Red Sox the day after the club clinched a postseason berth. Early gave up a Single to Jahmai Jones and then retired 13 in a row before getting into trouble in the 5th Inning. Early gave up a 2-out, 4-pitch walk to the #9 hitter Parker Meadows to load up the bases. The next hitter Jones knocked in 2 with a 2-out Single and that put the Tigers in front, 2-1. -----
