Ep 571: A Look at Mitch Keller & David Bednar's First Halves + ASG Recap + July 12th Importance

The All-Star Game has come and gone for the Pittsburgh Pirates and the second half of the MLB season is about ready to kick off. On today's episode of Locked On Pirates, host Ethan Smith takes a look at Mitch Keller and David Bednar's All-Star first halves, including their best outings, honorable mentions and what to expect from both in the second half of the season. Also, former Pirates catcher Elias Diaz took home the ASG MVP after his go-ahead HR that propelled the NL over the AL for the first time since 2012. Ethan recaps a fun ASG and takes a look at the past ten years of Pirates All-Stars. Finally, July 11-12, 2015 will always go down as very important games in Pirates history as the Pirates won back-to-back games vs the Cardinals in walk-off fashion, propelling them to their third straight playoff appearance from 2013-2015, and Ethan hints that postseason baseball may not be all that far away.
