Day 1 Training Camp Observations: Nic Scourton Carted Off as Carolina Panthers Injuries Continue to Mount

Carolina Panthers training camp is off to a rocky start as Nic Scourton's gut-wrenching injury clouds Day 1. Can Dave Canales and the revamped roster maintain momentum after a promising offseason, or will early setbacks derail their plans for 2026?

Julian Council recaps a chaotic opening practice marked by Scourton’s likely long-term absence, Taylor Moton’s medical issues, and questions about offensive and defensive line depth. Key storylines include the next-man-up scenario at edge rusher—will Pat Jones II or Princely Umanmielen claim the starting spot?—plus updates on Jaycee Horn’s injury status, Jonathon Brooks’ camp debut, and the evolving wide receiver and cornerback rotations. Will the Panthers’ aggressive offseason moves be enough to overcome a wave of early adversity?
