ACCOUNTABILITY: Dave Canales ADDRESSES Carolina Panthers Defensive ISSUES After Chicago Loss

Carolina Panthers’ defensive struggles reach a boiling point after a disastrous 59-37 home opener loss to the Chicago Bears. Head coach Dave Canales faces tough questions about his confidence in defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero’s system, even as the unit ranks near the bottom in multiple statistical categories. Can standout cornerback Jaycee Horn and newcomers like Will Lee and Bobby Okereke spark a turnaround, or are personnel choices and coaching at the heart of Carolina’s ongoing woes?

Julian Council breaks down inactive decisions involving JT Sanders and Cam Jackson, scrutinizes inconsistent play across the front seven, and outlines the daunting metrics that undermine Panthers’ optimism. Key insights include updates on roster moves, a candid look at the 2024 draft class, and speculation on whether coaching or roster changes are imminent ahead of the critical NFC South matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Can Canales and his staff steady the Panthers before it’s too late?
