Sunday Reaction LIVE: Chambliss, Lacy's Shoulder & YOUR Takes on Texas 34-27
Everybody is talking about the Hail Mary. That's the wrong play. Ole Miss lost this game on fourth-and-goal at the Texas 2 before halftime, when Rasheem Biles intercepted Trinidad Chambliss, and on the 157 rushing yards Raleek Brown piled up on 23 carries. Texas ran for 207 without Hollywood Smothers, and that is the film Auburn will be studying this week. Six days until Auburn comes to Oxford. Ole Miss is 5-2, 3-2 in the SEC, and Kewan Lacy's shoulder is the first question of the week. Steven Willis goes live the night after the Texas loss with what the film and the postgame told us, then turns the last two segments over to you: your best comments from last night's stream, the new poll, and whether this team can still play four complete quarters before November is over. 📌 THREE THINGS 1. Kewan Lacy's shoulder is the story of the week. He was carted off in the third quarter after a gang tackle on his 16th carry, and Pete Golding said it was the same shoulder Lacy has played through all season. Makhi Frazier ran six times for 47 yards in relief, including a 34-yard run. 2. Ole Miss left more than seven points in Austin. Biles intercepted Chambliss on fourth-and-goal at the 2 before halftime, Texas blocked a long field goal, and the last-play Hail Mary from the Texas 29 was picked off in the end zone by Jelani McDonald after Ole Miss recovered an onside kick. 3. The run defense lost this game. Texas ran 42 times for 207 yards and three touchdowns and held the ball for 34:55. "They found missed tackles," Golding said. Auburn ran for 67 yards on 35 carries against LSU last week, so this is the week to fix it.
