Top-100 In-State Recruit Picks Ole Miss Over Mississippi State

Antavion Allen — defensive line, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, class of 2028, 6'4", 289 pounds — committed to Ole Miss on Tuesday. He is a consensus national top-100 player: Rivals industry has him 95th nationally, 11th at his position and third in the state; 247Sports has him 92nd and 10th on the defensive line; ESPN has him 99th and 8th at the position. His offer sheet included Alabama, Florida State, Arkansas, Texas A&M and Mississippi State, who offered days before he picked Ole Miss anyway. His listed primary recruiter is Randall Joyner — the same coach Kam Franklin praised from the media day podium six days earlier, when Franklin named himself, Suntarine Perkins and Will Echols as Mississippi kids who had options everywhere and stayed home.
