REACTION: Steve Sarkisian CRUSHED His SEC Media Days Presser - Biggest Takeaways | Texas Football

Texas Longhorns land a shock roster boost as 5-star cornerback John Meredith III reclassifies to 2026 and joins the team early, shaking up the defensive backfield. Steve Sarkisian drops this bombshell at SEC Media Days, while also spotlighting critical fixes for penalties and an overhaul to the run game following last season’s struggles. With newcomers like Raleek Brown and Hollywood Smothers in the backfield and Cam Coleman out wide, could explosive plays become Texas’ new identity? BK, Brad Kellner breaks down Sarkisian’s vision for a revamped culture and details the challenge of blending 47 new players—including key portal additions—into a championship-caliber unit. Highlights include insights on Arch Manning’s growth, Will Muschamp’s aggressive defensive philosophy, and how marquee non-conference showdowns with Ohio State and Michigan could make or break Texas’ playoff ambitions. Can this loaded roster deliver on “championship or bust” expectations heading into the SEC gauntlet? Thanks for tuning in! Please like, share, subscribe, and leave a comment. Hook 'Em!
