PROBLEM: Will Texas' Struggling Secondary COST Them a Playoff Spot? | Full Breakdown

The Texas Longhorns secondary has become a glaring weakness, allowing opposing quarterbacks to post career-best performances in three of five SEC games. Diego Pavia more than doubled his conference passing average against Texas, while the Longhorns now rank 92nd nationally in pass defense after finishing seventh last season. Brad Kellner breaks down the alarming statistical trends plaguing the defensive backfield, examining how injuries to All-American Michael Taaffe and key contributors have exposed depth issues. The discussion shifts to Texas's offensive resurgence against Vanderbilt, where Arch Manning's development and a return to zone-blocking, west-coast principles produced the season's most efficient performance. Kellner questions whether Steve Sarkisian will maintain this successful identity or revert to inconsistent game planning. The episode concludes with analysis of Texas basketball's season-opening loss to sixth-ranked Duke, highlighting Dalen Swain's impressive debut and concerning no-shows from expected contributors. 0:00 Intro 1:02 Secondary struggles against Vanderbilt and Mississippi State 3:36 Texas ranks 92nd nationally in pass defense 5:38 Safety play without Taft was really bad 7:40 Coaching issues and missed assignments in secondary 10:43 Will Sarkeesian stick with offensive identity? 13:16 What worked on offense against Vanderbilt 16:21 Keep offensive line starting five together 18:23 Arch Manning taking command of the offense 21:28 Texas basketball loses season opener to Duke 24:33 Positive performances from Swain and Pope Thanks for tuning in!
