EXPLOSIVE: Texas Passing Offense ERUPTS vs. Texas State - But Run Game NEEDS Work? | Texas Football

Texas Longhorns offense erupts in a 59-7 rout of Texas State, igniting hope for a high-powered season ahead. Arch Manning dazzles with 305 yards and four touchdowns, showing newfound poise behind an offensive line that allowed just one sack. Explosive plays returned in force—Cam Coleman and Ryan Wingo both flashed big-play ability, while Texas’ third-down efficiency and red zone finishing marked dramatic progress under Steve Sarkisian’s playcalling. Yet questions linger: Can the Longhorns’ run game catch up before facing Ohio State and a tough SEC slate? While backs like Hollywood Smothers and Raleek Brown found the end zone, run blocking inconsistencies and a meager 156 rushing yards—or just 3.4 yards per carry outside of one big run—leave room for improvement. With defensive analysis still to come, this breakdown spotlights the reasons for optimism and the challenges Texas must address to contend for a national championship. Thanks for tuning in!
