What are the Detroit Lions plans with Za'Darius and that edge room?

Za'Darius Smith wants to be in Detroit. Question is: Do the Lions want him? Smith was at the BET awards recently with his girlfriend and did state that Detroit is where he wants to be. Smith was adamant about it actually, even though the team let him go for cap purposes. Brad Holmes recently was a guest on the Green Light podcast with Chris Long and basically said he is happy with his D ends and really likes how good the interior or his D Line is going to be.
