INEXCUSABLE: Detroit Lions Defense SHATTERED—Josh Allen SCORCHES Detroit in Primetime Loss.

Detroit Lions’ secondary collapses as Buffalo Bills’ offense rolls to a 41-31 victory. Is Detroit’s defensive scheme doomed—or can key injuries explain the breakdown?

Matt Dery dissects the Lions’ embarrassing prime-time defeat at Buffalo’s new Highmark Stadium, spotlighting Josh Allen’s 5-touchdown performance and James Cook’s dominance on the ground. The conversation focused on Detroit’s defensive failures, with Kelvin Sheppard’s scheme scrutinized and questions raised about the communication in the secondary. Offensively, Jared Goff’s 4-touchdown night and Amon-Ra St. Brown’s 142 receiving yards offered bright spots, but injuries and sloppy play—including 10 costly penalties—undermined the effort. Several points were raised, including concerns about the athletic training staff, roster decisions involving Ennis Rakestraw, and the need for urgent improvements against upcoming opponents like the New York Jets. Can Detroit rebound, or are bigger changes required to salvage the season? #firstlisten
