Navy Insider Preview With Bill Wagner
Locked On Irish host Tyler Wojciak is joined by longtime Capital Gazette Navy beat reporter Bill Wagner for an inside look at the Midshipmen ahead of Saturday's rivalry matchup at Gillette Stadium. After consecutive double-digit-win seasons under Brian Newberry, Navy has stumbled to a disappointing 2-5 start, raising questions about what went wrong and whether the Midshipmen can turn things around. Tyler and Bill begin by examining Navy's struggles, the state of the program and what's at stake against Notre Dame. Then, they break down Drew Cronic's offense, the emergence of quarterback Jackson Gutierrez following Braxton Woodson's injury, and the biggest playmakers the Fighting Irish need to contain. Finally, they evaluate Navy's defensive issues, discuss how the Midshipmen plan to defend CJ Carr and Notre Dame's offense, and share their expectations and predictions for Saturday's game.
