Notre Dame Recruiting Roundup with Brian Smith & Transfer Class Evaluation Through Three Games

Locked On Irish host Tyler Wojciak is joined by The Portal host Brian Smith for a wide-ranging look at how Notre Dame is building its roster and what the first three games have revealed about the Fighting Irish. They start with the latest Notre Dame recruiting developments after a loaded visitor weekend against Michigan State, including the biggest 2028 priorities, top targets, changes in Marcus Freeman’s recruiting approach and the 2027 commits having standout senior seasons. Then, Tyler and Brian evaluate Notre Dame’s transfer portal class, the early impact of the newcomers, the quiet starts for Mylan Graham and Quincy Porter and whether the Irish should have been more aggressive at running back or tight end. Finally, they turn their attention to the current team, breaking down the biggest surprises through three games, the inconsistent running game, CJ Carr’s performance and what Notre Dame still needs to show before its October matchup with BYU.
