Phil Steele FORECASTS Florida Gators’ Toughest SEC Tests in 2026, Ranking SURPRISES

Phil Steele’s 2026 SEC predictions leave Florida Gators fans bewildered: is Jon Sumrall’s squad secretly a contender or destined to finish near the bottom? Brandon Olsen unpacks Steele’s rankings, spotlighting the Gators’ top-25 roster talent alongside a grueling schedule that projects Florida finishing 11th in the SEC. The conversation focuses on matchups with Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss, and Florida State, raising questions about Shane Beamer’s South Carolina ranking and Florida’s tough road ahead. Key topics include Steele’s projections for Florida’s offensive and defensive output, including statistical jumps in scoring, rushing, and passing that still leave the Gators trailing many SEC rivals. Brandon Olsen questions if strength of schedule and new nine-game SEC slates will stunt Florida’s climb, while also breaking down potential surprises in the Gators’ non-conference games. Can Sumrall’s Florida Gators outperform expectation, or does the SEC’s depth spell another uphill fight?
