KJ Ford is Florida Gators ONLY Freshman That Should Play Often in 2026

Florida Gators fans zero in on freshman edge rusher KJ Ford as a breakout contender for 2026—could he be the only true freshman to log significant snaps? With high praise for Ford’s pass-rushing potential, elite first step, and physical traits, the conversation focused on his position behind Jayden Woods at Jack linebacker and his chances to make a consistent impact in Jon Sumrall’s defense. The discussion explored whether other newcomers like Justin Williams (versatile offensive weapon), CJ Bronagh (depth corner), Malik Morris, and Heze Kent (promising tight end) could join Ford in regular rotations, especially amid fierce competition and injury risks. Several points were raised, including Florida’s depth at wide receiver and cornerback, and how position battles and player health could shape the Gators' 2026 campaign. Can the talented freshman class crack the lineup in a stacked roster and elevate Florida in SEC play?
