Jon Sumrall Names Aaron Philo Florida Gators Starting Quarterback over Tramell Jones

Florida Gators settle key position battles as Jon Sumrall names Aaron Philo the starting quarterback and finalizes both offensive tackle spots. Will Philo’s mistake-free play and command at the line propel Florida past FAU in week one, or is the door still open for Tramell Jones to challenge the job? The answer might determine the Gators’ ceiling in the SEC race. Brandon Olsen breaks down the offensive line shakeup, with Bryce Lovett moving from guard to left tackle and Emeka Ugorji locking down right tackle—raising questions about depth and long-term confidence at both spots. Plus, hear why Cormani McClain’s boom-or-bust, gamble-heavy approach at cornerback drew direct comments from Sumrall, echoing similar past critiques. Can McClain deliver consistent production and become the secondary’s reliable star, or will his risk-taking keep him off the field in 2026?
