COACHES POLL: Florida Gators UNRANKED In Preseason Coaches Poll Under Jon Sumrall

Florida Gators face tough skepticism as Jon Sumrall’s squad goes unranked in the USA Today Coaches Poll despite strong retention and promising young talent. After a four-win season, questions swirl around whether the roster’s returning standouts can overcome the loss of key players like Jake Slaughter and DJ Lagway—especially with major uncertainty surrounding the quarterback position. The conversation focused on the Gators’ daunting 2026 schedule, which includes showdowns against national powerhouses Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, and Ole Miss—four of the top 10 teams in preseason rankings.
