CLARITY?: Florida Gators QB Battle MIGHT Be Finding a Leader in Fall Camp

Florida Gators’ quarterback battle heats up as Aaron Philo emerges as the early frontrunner during spring practices. Are Jon Sumrall’s Gators about to turn the page at QB, or can Tramell Jones mount a comeback as fall camp progresses? Detailed practice observations reveal Philo consistently taking first-team snaps, often alongside key starters like Jadan Baugh and Amir Jackson. Meanwhile, Jones is seeing more mixed reps with the second unit and rising playmakers like London Montgomery. With both quarterbacks relatively unproven and only 130 combined collegiate dropbacks, questions remain about who will lead Florida’s offense when the pads come on. As fans debate their preferred starter, the coaching staff continues to mix and match personnel—fueling speculation about the final depth chart. The countdown to the first scrimmage and full-pad practices on August 11th could be decisive. How will this high-stakes competition reshape the Gators’ outlook for 2026?
