David Montgomery is a Must Add Dead Zone RB

David Montgomery stands out as one of the best middle-round fantasy football values and a premier RB dead zone target in 2026 drafts. While many fantasy managers avoid running backs in the traditional dead zone rounds, Montgomery offers a rare combination of weekly consistency, touchdown upside, and proven production in one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses. Despite sharing the backfield with Jahmyr Gibbs, Montgomery has finished as a reliable RB2 and has remained a top-24 fantasy running back in the vast majority of his games with Detroit, thanks to his dominant goal-line role and steady workload.
