BYU Football's STELLAR 2024 DISRESPECTED? Pundits Pan BYU's Preseason Ranking

BYU football should be a preseason top-20 team in 2025, despite some pundits suggesting an unranked start after their 11-2 2024 season. Their 11-2 record demonstrated their competitiveness and established them as a force in the Big 12. Returning key players on both sides of the ball provides a strong foundation for continued success. A challenging schedule will prepare them for the rigors of conference play and the potential for a playoff run. While preseason rankings are subjective, BYU's recent success, returning talent, and challenging schedule warrant a higher preseason ranking than being unranked. They have proven they can compete at a high level and should be recognized for their accomplishments. Dismissing BYU's 11-2 2024 season as a "fluke" is a disservice to their hard work and accomplishments. This team proved their competitiveness in the challenging Big 12, showcasing a balanced offense and a strong defense. While preseason rankings are subjective, ignoring their recent success undermines their achievements. Returning key players and a demanding schedule demonstrate their commitment to building a sustainable program. BYU has earned the respect that comes with a top-20 preseason ranking. BYU basketball faces a crucial test tonight as they host the #20 Arizona Wildcats. Riding a four-game winning streak in the Big 12, the Cougars have momentum and are looking to extend their dominance. A victory over a ranked opponent like Arizona would significantly boost BYU's NCAA Tournament resume and solidify their position as a serious contender in the conference. This is a pivotal matchup with major implications for both teams. Expect a hard-fought battle as BYU aims for a fifth consecutive win and a statement victory against a highly-regarded opponent.
