East Preview: MAKE or BREAK Season For Paolo Banchero, Orlando Magic

Orlando Magic face a pivotal season as questions swirl about Paolo Banchero’s ability to become a true franchise leader and whether the squad’s core—featuring Franz Wagner, Desmond Bane, and Jalen Suggs—can finally stay healthy and break through in the Eastern Conference. As soaring salaries bring the second apron into play, pressure mounts on new head coach Sean Sweeney to unlock the Magic’s full potential before looming financial decisions force tough roster choices. John Karalis of Celtics On SI is joined by Phillip Rossman-Reich of Locked On Magic to discuss if Orlando can shed its injury woes and make the leap from "nice playoff team" to legitimate contender. Key topics include Banchero’s growth, the impact of Sweeney’s system, last season’s bitter playoff exit, and the razor-thin margins that could push the Magic into the East’s upper echelon—or see them stuck on the outside looking in. Will this finally be the season Orlando shakes its run of bad luck and earns respect across the NBA?
