NO PANIC: Boston College Loses Fred Payne & Boden Kapke, But Roster Overhaul BRINGS Opportunity

Boston College Eagles basketball faces a complete roster reset as standout players Fred Payne and Boden Kapke enter the transfer portal. Is this the turning point the program needs? Host A.J. Black argues that, despite the departures, new head coach Luke Murray’s arrival—and possibly a third straight UConn national title on his résumé—positions the Eagles to reshape their recruiting narrative and target higher-impact talent through the portal. Additional highlights include a gut-wrenching BC baseball series against No. 6 UNC, where strong performances fell just short, and critical midweek games against Dartmouth and UMass loom large for RPI. The discussion also tackles the cancellation of the football spring game and the potential impact of recent NCAA transfer rule changes. Can Murray’s pedigree and renewed investment finally break BC hoops out of its cycle of mediocrity?
