REPORT: SEC, Big 10 Are Threatening to REMOVE Big 12 from College Football Playoff, Expand to League

The perception that the Big Ten and SEC "strong arm" or "bully" the Big 12 stems from a few key factors related to the power dynamics in college football: Financial Dominance: The SEC and Big Ten have secured significantly more lucrative media rights deals than the Big 12. This financial advantage allows them to invest more in recruiting, facilities, and coaching salaries, creating a competitive gap that's difficult for other conferences to overcome. This financial muscle also gives them more leverage in negotiations and decision-making processes that affect the broader landscape of college sports. National Exposure and Influence: The SEC and Big Ten have historically dominated college football, leading to greater national exposure and increased brand value. This translates into more favorable treatment from media outlets, greater influence in national conversations about college football, and more opportunities for their teams to be featured in prime-time slots. This level of exposure and influence can make it harder for the Big 12 to gain similar recognition and traction. Expansion and Realignment: The recent conference realignment moves, driven largely by the SEC and Big Ten, have reshaped the landscape of college football. These moves have concentrated power in the hands of these two conferences, leaving other conferences, including the Big 12, to adapt to the changing dynamics. The way these expansions were executed, often with little consultation or consideration for other conferences, can be perceived as "strong-arming" or "bullying." Perception of "Super Conferences": The narrative of the SEC and Big Ten as emerging "super conferences" further contributes to the perception of them as dominant forces. This narrative suggests that they are operating on a different level than other conferences, potentially leading to a sense that they are trying to dictate the future of college football. It's important to note that this is a perception, and not necessarily a reflection of intentional malice or bullying. The SEC and Big Ten are acting in their own best interests, as any conference would. However, their financial power, national influence, and recent actions have created a dynamic where other conferences, like the Big 12, may feel like they are being pushed around or left behind.
