The Big 12 has been active in the transfer portal, and it's showing on On3's top 20 portal class rankings with 6 Big 12 teams ranked higher than Big 10 and SEC powers like Texas, Ohio State and Georgia. All three conferences have aggressively utilized the portal to improve rosters. SEC & Big Ten Prowess: The SEC and Big Ten, with their established recruiting bases and significant resources, continue to attract top-tier talent through both traditional recruiting and the transfer portal. Big 12's Rise: The Big 12 has made strides in recent years, landing impactful transfers and improving their overall roster quality. Fluid Situation: The transfer portal landscape is constantly evolving, with teams making moves throughout the offseason. While the Big 12 has shown impressive activity in the transfer portal, it's more accurate to describe the situation as a competitive arms race among the top conferences, rather than outright dominance by any single league.
