Silent STRATEGY: Angels’ Quiet Winter Meetings SUGGEST a BLOCKBUSTER Signing or Trade Is Imminent

The Los Angeles Angels sparked offseason debate as the Rule 5 Draft passed without additions to the 40-man roster, leaving five open spots and major questions about Perry Minasian’s next moves. Will the Halos capitalize on this roster flexibility to secure a top starting pitcher, power bat, or defensive upgrade? Jon and Mike Frisch, the Super Halo Bros., break down the Angels’ selection of Eybersson Polanco in the minor league phase, the loss of five pitching prospects, and what it reveals about the organization’s farm system and strategy. Analysis centers on potential free agent signings, open positions at second and third base, and the ever-uncertain role of Mike Trout: should he stick to DH or return to center field? The hosts weigh payroll implications, pitching depth concerns, and whether the quiet winter meetings mean a dramatic move is still coming. Can the Angels finally address their weaknesses before Opening Day, or will familiar challenges linger?
