Commentary Eliphaz continues his attack on Job by accusing him of arrogance, foolishness, and hidden sin. His words are strong, but they are not grounded in truth. Instead of comforting Job, he crushes him. Job responds with frustration, telling his friends exactly how their speeches have hurt him. He describes how he would have spoken differently had their situations been reversed. His longing for someone to mediate between God and man points us toward the role Jesus fulfills perfectly.
