Leicestershire’s Fight for Survival | Leicester News

Hampshire vs Leicestershire day one was a bowler’s dream, with wickets flying and drama mounting as both teams fight to avoid relegation. Hampshire posted 214 thanks to Ben Brown’s gritty 80, while Leicestershire’s Ian Holland tore through the top order with a career-best six for 38. Now on the attack, Leicestershire trail by 66 with just three wickets left, but Hamza Shaikh is steadying the ship at 50 not out. Kyle Abbott, league-leading wicket-taker, claimed four of Leicestershire’s seven dismissals. With the ECB still weighing a potential points deduction for their pitch, the stakes are sky-high — Leicestershire still has a slim shot at survival, while Hampshire looks resigned to the drop. The battle rages on.
