Leicester Mum Rescued After Malawi Kidnapping | Leicester News

A Leicester mum was kidnapped in Malawi but safely rescued after a dramatic police shootout that left four armed kidnappers dead and a senior officer wounded. Nusrat Jiwa Osman, taken at gunpoint while dropping off her kids, is now home receiving care — her family hailed her as an “amazing soul” and praised the bravery of Deputy Inspector General Dr. Noel Kayira, who risked his life to save her. Authorities are still investigating the motive, though warnings suggest kidnappings often target Brits for ransom. This gripping rescue underscores both the dangers in some regions and the courage of those who protect us.
