Empty Pub Becomes Affordable Homes | Leicester News

After five years of being an eyesore and a source of trouble, the long-vacant Nautical William pub in Wigston is finally getting the axe — replaced by 14 brand-new social rented homes designed to meet local demand. The mix includes five two-bed, three three-bed, and six one-bed units, turning a blight into a beacon of affordable housing and neighborhood renewal. Council approval came after years of waiting, and residents are thrilled — this isn’t just about homes, it’s about transforming a key spot for the better.
