East Midlands Airport's New Snowplows: Fun & Efficiency

East Midlands Airport invests £2.5 million in new snowplows, aiming to clear runways quickly and efficiently. The fleet of six Schmidt Compact Jet Sweepers can clear the entire runway in 24 minutes. The airport seeks community involvement by inviting local children to name the vehicles, with winners receiving a family ticket to Twycross Zoo. This investment supports the airports net zero carbon emissions goal by using vegetable oil-based biodiesel. DNN | The Daily News Now! The world’s first global local news network. Every city.
