Car Wash Proposal Rejected Near Elderly Care | Leicester News

A proposed car wash in Melton’s busy car park—right next to a dementia care center—was soundly rejected by the council after fierce opposition from neighbors, staff, and officials. The applicant, Marco Carrelli, had previously tried and failed with a similar plan, and this time, despite tweaking his proposal, the committee voted unanimously against it. Concerns centered on noise disrupting elderly residents, visual clutter near a historic market, traffic congestion, and environmental risks like water pollution—all adding up to a decisive “no” for the town’s green and orderly image.
